Verena Schaad was christening 24 Jan 1706, recorded in Aarwangen but shows them living in Schwarzhäusern.

She is the daughter of Durs Schad and Elssbeht an der Egg.  Witnesses to the christening were:  Jacob Obrist, Verena Sagister, and Anna Leinhardt.

Schwarzhäusern is just across the river from Aarwangen and because they do not have their own church they went in to Schwarzhausern for church.  As I drove through the village quickly it seemed to be very small - nothing like the houses on the map. In 2020 they had 533 residents but in 1764 there were 156.  It was originally known as Rufshausen in 1100 A.D.  By 1677 it had changed its name. Agriculture is the leading industry and cottage weaving (weaving from home for sale) supplemented their incomes.
